Over a path to be used for traffic congestion one weekend for one soccer tournament a year.
The path:
(Matthew Barry, The Advocate)
Newark Mayor Bob Diebold pointed towards the economic benefit the soccer tournament could bring to the community. But, some reasonable residents have a different opinion:
"OK, how about we run traffic thru YOUR neighborhood and see how you like it! See if you like the fumes and the kids almost being hit by people going way too fast for the road. And then watch it become a permanent access road and have it be a non-stop problem, esp when people start using it in the off-season, and late at night, to park and do drug deals.
I don't think so....."
Yes because using a path for a soccer tournament once a year is the gateway to drug dealing. How rational!
Sometimes I wonder if people just like to complain because they have nothing else better to do with their lives? A little extra traffic 2 days out of the year for a soccer tournament and the sky is falling in Newark, Ohio. If this was pee-wee football, would this be a problem? Probably not.
