This Is What Happens..

When people can't give up on ridicoulous ideas.

You know why I don't like it. Because it is not better than the one we have now and actually looks worse! I guess this teenager believes he is a professional design artist and everyone should just throw away the old logo and it's history for his professional opinion(which sucks), as he says about my thoughts on his stupid logo design, "(the most entertaining) inconsequential condescending ignorance." Yes, I came up with Nordecke, pushed "We Love You!", and orchestrated the TIFO for the semifinal but your right I don't know shit about the team image and I'm ignorant. I or any Crew fan shouldn't have an opinion about the idea of changing our proud logo for 13 years. Where do these people come from?

Yes, the old logo isn't perfect but we have grown attached to it. History means something to some people who have been here longer than one year. And, if we ever do change it, I want something better than three retarded looking robots on steriods.

From his blog, in response to someone who posted:
“There’s nothing wrong with it! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!”

There are quite a few things wrong with it actually. It is sloppy and lazy design work(nice Crew fan we have here), and I shouldn’t have to say that is unacceptable for “America’s Hardest Working Team”. A bit of what I’m referring to: you notice the jagged angles and messy detail in the dude’s shirts? (Who cares?) That happens when a designer uses a feature called “Live Trace”. (snooze) Live Trace tells the computer to guess how to draw your image, instead of doing it yourself. Essentially, a lazy designer let the computer do the work for him or her. The result? A logo with detail so irrelevant it doesn’t reproduce when embroidered (scarves, hats, jerseys) or when printed at sizes less than 2 inches (tickets, program guides, advertising).

So the way we fix this is by replacing the three guys who are all a little different, for three exact replicas of robots on steriods? Are you serious? Am I missing something here? If someone makes an actually good new design then great. But, this one is just as lazy as the original.

And, what are you talking about not reproducing when the logo is embroidered? I have a Crew hat, a Crew scarf, and Crew tickets with the logo on it? And, your telling me you actually drew the robots. Wow, fantastic!

Listen, if this is for fun that's great. But, your logo is too ridicoulous to be considered seriously as a replacement. If we ever have a new logo it should be a more European or traditional logo with something to do with the city along with the Crew(construction workers) in much smaller detail but in a traditional crest. Not three steriod robots.

There is a reason why your not getting any positive replies. Because most real Crew fans will not trade their logo with it's history(amazing or not) for a just as crappy logo with no history.

Get over it.

It's not about you. It's about the team.

Thanks.

2 & 3 are obviously from the dude that made the logo.

Check on bigsoccer if you think I missing A LOT on your steriod robot logo.

And, well, because European or South American or what have you teams know how to do soccer logo's better than America did in 1996. I don't know why anyone has to be all patriotic about logo's?

Ever see the Burn, Mutiny, or old KC Wiz logo? They suck, because they were trying to make them like NBA or NFL logo's, which are not soccer logo's.

new proposed logo looks like complete crap. Honestly if we switched to that we would have the worst logo in professional sports. im not even exaggerating. I couldnt think of one worse. Im not saying the current Crew logo is perfect but it is about 1,000,000 times better than that Disney's Incredibles/ Transformers bullshit. The worst part is that this dude is touting himself as god's gift to designing. People dont like it. Either try again or gtfo.

Keep up the good work on the blog!

I move to strike all anonymous comments from this blog.

The new logo is terrible. Is there a petition we can sign? I bet if all three supporters groups got together and raised hell, it would make a difference.

Both of the logos suck, period.

Instead of bickering, why dont you people go to work on making a crest that actually looks professional.

Oh, and I shouldn't have to sign in just to post a comment. Thanks, Foreigner.

Look, I happen to agree with you. This “proposed” logo blows. Making matters even worse, the designer of this logo refuses to just go away and his drivel keeps popping up in new and increasingly annoying places online.
However, I have to ask you why you seem to continually feel the need to proclaim to everyone that you "came up with Nordecke, pushed "We Love You!", and orchestrated the TIFO for the semifinal?" I have seen you write this several times now between this blog and the bigsoccer forums. I fail to understand why you offer these statements in an apparent attempt to add weight and/or credibility to your opinion and ideas. It’s as if you think your opinion is more important than others’ based on what you believe to be your “impressive” resume, which also entitles you to a say in all things Crew. Based on how you throw these statements around, you seem to have the opinion that your “many contributions” to Crew fandom have somehow earned you a seat at whatever table you think exists. Congratulations on becoming the Jesse Jackson of the Columbus Crew. These claims, whether based in reality and completely legitimate or amusing exaggerations designed to artificially inflate your own feelings of self-worth (and I am giving you the benefit of the doubt on this), make you come across as a pompous, immature child trying to prove to everyone how important you think you are. (“But, I came up with the term Nordecke, see? That was all MY idea. I started it all! I’m really cool and important!” See how that sounds whiny and pathetic, even if it is true?) Your hypocritical scathing comments crucifying the designer of this asinine logo are just as bad as the shit he is spewing about his “wonderful” new design. Maybe the two of you should get together and have your egos fight it out to the death. Then, if your massive sense of self should emerge victorious from this 12 round whiny-baby battle royal, then you could put this accomplishment next to your “Coined the term ‘Nordecke’ all by myself ” trophy.

Woo, that burns!

Look I made the comment to prove that I know something about image. I don't think someone who came up with the term for the section can be accused of inconsequential condascending ignorance on the Crew's image.

And, look I don't care about who came up with what. If I did I would be copyrighting and trademarking(instead I could give a shit less about that whole thing anymore), I have given up and let people make a million .com's and they can sell shirts for all I care, and say they came up with it for all I care. I just got pissed off that some newb lame ass designer was calling me ignorant, when I would like to think I know a little something about the image of this franchise. Those facts were just used as proof.

Who is this by the way? Sounds a little like Bill Archer. I got alot of rep on the thread for dressing down Mr. Robot Logo, so I would like to know who I offended? Please do share.

Btw, if you actually did something and it's fact. It's not aggrogance, it's just stating facts. I don't get what scares people so much about facts.

I did all those things. So, you can politely go screw yourself.
