Frank Del'Appa put a lot of thought into the title of his post game article for Saturday's "Politics not on minds of these right-wing yahoos," when the Globe's Revolution writer wanted to talk about Crew fans who allegedly even threw produce at Ralston on Saturday.
First off before we get into his little blurb, this has to be the most retarded double-entendre title in the history of titles.
Politics not on our minds? Huh? This is a soccer match. Why would the Clinton/Obama battle be on our minds when we are at a soccer match?
Oh wait I get it! Politics not on our mind because we are people on the right-wing who are yahoo's at a soccer match, oh okay, I get it. It seriously took me a hour today to catch on to the title. :-)
But, right wing? Huh? I didn't know George W. Bush was into the whole streamer tossing thing. I'll have to tell my BFF Archer. Btw, I would have to say that the majority of supporters in the corner are extremely liberal being mostly college kids, so shame on you Mr. Appa if you were using that as a double entendre. And, with that in mind when I went to a campaign thing at my college to watch Hillary Clinton talk about her mom, I should have asked, "what are your moms plans to support Major League Soccer?" She seemed to have an answer to everything else, I wonder if she would have one for that.
Anyways, even if Appa is trying to be sort of witty, what is Yahoo's? That's just pretty lame. Are those people who search on yahoo? Try Hooligans, dude. Come on they got, "shirts with hooligan on them." :-)
Man, nice smack talk all around there Appa. I just imagine this discussion:
Crew fan: "Hey Revs fan, I sucked on your mom's titties last night."
Appa: "Yeah you would, you right-wing yahoo!"
Crew fan: "Scratching head." (Walks away, confused.)
Bolded is my interpretation of the story.
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The decisive action in the Revolution's 1-0 win over Columbus last night occurred on New England's right wing. And that was where the Crew Stadium fans generated some over-the-top enthusiasm, showering Revolution midfielder Steve Ralston with liquids, solids, and smoke as he attempted corner kicks.
"They were throwing streamers, beer, bananas, smoke bombs, batteries, money, dirty knickers, beenie babies, minature poodles, vespa's, avocados, cell phones, car tires, shopping carts, carrot cake, crewzers, apple pie, and Niko Hernandez" Ralston said.
"It's a problem when someone can take a run and get 5 feet from me and throw a buck a brat at my head. I was just trying to take the [corners] quick and get out of there. I asked Sainey [Nyassi] if he wanted to take them and he said, "no, you take them u pussy."
"But, saying that, it was the best atmosphere the Crew have had in a long time. You can be loud and enjoy things and have fun, just as long as you aren't throwing things at my head." Yeah must suck playing for a team with fans that create zero atmosphere. That's probably why the New England players paid so much attention to us mocking them.
Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis said: "It gets dangerous. They aren't policing it. They can throw anything they want and the security people are standing there watching." Or kicking people out as I saw them escort about five people out of the section. But, you probably saw it all while playing the game Matt Reis so I'll take your word for it.
And, I do have to thank Del' Appa for opening us to more sponsorship ideas. Chiquita night anyone?
Could we throw bananas instead of streamers against San Jose? I mean that would be different then TFC who invented streamers, yes brillant. Could they sponsor our stadium or next shirt?
Or possibly even Yahoo could be a sponsor for our section being that we are all "Right-wing yahoo's." Thanks Appa!

OMG it's a bad play on words about the Revs right wing players. get over it.
Grow up crew fans! What is wrong with complaining about things BESIDES STREAMERS being thrown at them!! Its like you support this kind of hooliganism! Quit ruining giving MLS a bad name!
.........wat we support is OUR TEAM, NOT hooliganism. Im sorry that we have a half decent supporters group UNLIKE the FORT or w/e the hell its called, and im syr that our supporters group has a few bad apples that don't know how to contain themselves when the opposing players come right over to our section and celebrate after scoring a bullsh!t goal then flicking us off.. im not saying that racial slurs and throwing bottles is acceptable, because it isn't and it shouldn't be tolerated!! but honestly to have a few individual give a bad rep to a new group that is creating a great atmosphere, in a league where honestly, not many good atmospheres exist, is ridiculous...
And is anyone talking about MR. Shalrie Joseph, a professional footballer who flicked off our crowd? No
As a guy who has no MLS team (yet) ... I think if Mr. Shalrie Joseph were to walk up, grab that ass-hat fan by the collar, pull him over the guard rail and use his face as cleat cleaner, I don't think I'd have a problem with that.
You wanna red card Joseph for flipping off the fans? Fair enough...how 'bout talking with your buddies beforehand to actively find security and point out the ass-hats next time something like this happens.
Agreed. If I had racial slurs slung at me I'd be flipping off the crowd too. Unacceptable professional behavior it is, but totally justified in this circumstance. STOP TACITLY SUPPORTING THIS CRAP BY MAKING LIGHT OF IT AND COME OUT AND CONDEMN THE THROWING OF BANANAS, BATTERIES, AND OTHER OBJECTS THAT OBVIOUSLY INTEND TO HURT PLAYERS! Then maybe the rest of us will stop lumping in Crew supporters with the "few bad apples."
