As much as I would like to rib Blanco, TFC, Beckham, or the All Star format, this is a heck of a league. A league that I'm proud is growing fast. Think about it, could any of us ever imagine this five years ago? The stars, the atmosphere, Seattle, Philadelphia, and two more teams by 2011? Nuts. The money coming in is absolutely beautiful. The talent on the field is phenomonal. The scoreline 3-2 was an injustice as the MLS ran circles around West Ham (even though Dean Ashton is quality with his strikes).
I found this game entertaining once it got going second half. Can't beat Beckham, Blanco, JPA, Steve Nash wanting to buy a team, packed crowd with a good atmosophere, and an entertaining game.
Some other thoughts: Props to Toronto fans(although I'm puking while I type this) for not booing Blanco when he received his MVP award, he deserved to be cheered and that was classy. Also props for mainly cheering for MLS.
At the same time props for throwing streamers at Beckham and the commish. Guess that's the complete end of streamers after Garber had to duck them at half. But, you were smart not to boo him either at the end.
I feel bad for Boa Morte. I'm figuring he would have had no clue that this was a friendly All Star Game, hell could have been playing Liverpool for a Champions League spot with the bruises he received.
Rob Stone has been resigned to that goofy guy that does stupid shit for laughs. Ratings would have sored if bitchy would have got all bitchy on the Stoner.
Loved the dude in the Elvis gear singing "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" while blowing bubbles.
Couldn't that Estelle chick at least change it up to be "Canadian boy." I mean shit those Canadians can't get a break.
I found it interesting that the West Ham players find an All Star game in the EPL intriguing. I for one like the All Star game, I'm sure the MLS players don't mind lacing up with the best players in the league as well. I also like it because it's one night where we can all just root for the same team and have a little look how great we are parade for MLS.
I also like how MLS always does surprises like look out for a McBride announcement tomorrow. And, that Cooper is headed to Norway.
Intruging stuff at all ends, loved the link up play in the second half, enjoyed the game. Thumbs up MLS.
