Yesterday afternoon, Carver felt a twinge of regret when he reflected on his criticism of Schelotto.

In the four months since he last appeared in Toronto, Schelotto has morphed from an overrated flopper to league MVP frontrunner, and Carver fears his tirade kick-started the transformation.

"I think I've done him a favour," Carver said.
