Allen Looking To Do Bus As Well, Number of Crew Fans In Chicago Could Swell to 175

Since Kevin has 45 now(Allen was waiting out on that bus to be close to fill up, it's a 54 total bus) and La Turbina has 45 as well, along with the non-bus riders we are at about 130. Now Allen is looking to fill a bus, IF YOUR INTERESTED IN THE BELOW TRIP EMAIL ALLEN IMMEDIATELY AT THIS ADDRESS, talon926@hotmail.com. And, if your interested in getting some of the last seats on Kevin's up and back, click the bus details link on the right scroll bar. I'll add Allen's bus on there tomorrow probably.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS I RECEIVED IN AN EMAIL FROM ALLEN TONIGHT ABOUT HIS TRIP PLAN:

I’ve been waiting for Kevin with Crew Supporters Union to get enough for his bus before I started promoting any trip I may do…

I hear that Kevin now has 45 so I feel comfortable discussing a trip that I would organize. For those that haven’t heard, the count of Crew fans in Toronto ended up being about 110 – the most ever at an away game. So far there are 2 buses with about 45 each already confirmed. Kevin’s bus is one but also Turbina put together a Turbina bus and has 45-50. After you add in the non-bus Crew fans it looks like right now there’s about 130 expected in Chicago, or more. If I get a group together then it’s even more impressive for a show of support for the Crew.

The reason I’m not riding on Kevin’s bus is that I would prefer to go up on Saturday and see some of Chicago (I’ve never been there). Of course, going up Saturday make my trip more expensive than Kevin’s.

Here’s what I got so far…

I’m looking at a bus if I can get 45+ to commit quickly. If not then I’ll likely rent 15 passenger van(s). It’s cheaper to do the van(s) but after it gets close to 45 the price difference is negligible and clearly the bus would be preferred.

Rough itinerary –

Leave Columbus (location to be determined) – 8:00 am
6 hour drive to Chicago, arrive at 1:00 pm (1 hour time difference)
Go directly to hotel (same hotel as team)
You are on your own at that time
Get on transportation (van or bus) about 12:30 and head to stadium
Tailgate at stadium from 1:00 – 3:00 (I would ask that some of us bring grills and everyone chips in for a cookout – burgers and dogs).
Leave immediately after the game and return to Columbus around midnight

The pricing (based on rough estimates and could change slightly – like last time)…

Single $300
Double $225
Triple $205
Quad $190

This price would include:

Transportation to / from Chicago
Box lunch from Café del Mundo
Some beer and other drinks on the ride up
Hotel room at the team hotel
Ticket to the game

The price does not include the tailgate party. Anyone that wants to do that can contribute with tailgate items – we can coordinate as time gets closer. We would need 2-3 grills, plates, hamburger, hotdogs, buns, condiments, chips, side dishes, etc…

So – the big question – ARE YOU IN?

I’m only going to do this if I can get enough people to commit very quickly and collect the money. But, since getting a van is an option this time then I don’t need a bunch, just enough to make it reasonable with 1 – 2 vans or hopefully enough to get a bus!!!

Please respond ASAP!!!

I’m giving everyone from my first group this information first. In a couple of days I’m going to try to get this promoted further and see what happens…

Also, I’m working with the Crew front office to get group pricing for the MLS playoff tickets. The Crew is the first MLS team to have cinched a spot in the playoffs. I’m working to get discount pricing for anyone that wants… If you want tickets to the 2 MLS playoff games (assuming we have 2 here) let me know…

Get back to me soon!

-Allen

GO CREW!!!

Great news and I can't wait for the trip. Trying to comprehend the phrase "to dwarf to" is making my head kinda hurt though. wouldn't "to drawrf" mean to get smaller?
