Schmid did explain his own ejection that occurred in second-half stoppage time after Taylor Twellman appeared to attempt a bicycle kick while undercutting Crew keeper William Hesmer.

“That wasn’t the only thing I (was upset with),” Schmid said. “There were a number of things throughout the game. (Twellman) went underneath Will as he was coming to punch the ball. In my mind, I saw my goalkeeper getting injured and that having a major impact on our season. Then, (referee Terry Vaughn) gives Will a yellow card. I didn’t understand that.”

Schmid said he doesn't know for sure why he was ejected. At one point, television cameras caught him yelling toward the field while being held back by assistant Robert Warzycha, who was also yelling. Schmid speculated it was because he was perceived to be damaging the sideboard in front of the bench.

“The boards are so close there you’re going to kick them if you cross your legs,” he said. “Stevie Nicol was kicking the boards the whole game. The bench had a big crack in it and the board (near us) already had a hole in it.”

At Ruby's we all erupted in cheers when Sigi went postal on the referees. Sigi was toying with security near the end of his tirade down the sidelines and took his time leaving. That's my kind of coach, right there.

Maybe since both Sigi and Frankie will be suspended for the next game we can get both of them to sit in the HSH? Sigi would fit right in. :-)
