It's Better To Overreact Now Crew Fans, Than Not To React.

These two threads talk about what action we should take as Crew fans. LINK HERE and HERE. You can continue the discussion on these threads as well readers.

I'm going with two actions for Crew fans:

1.) A guarentee from our current owners HSG and Noozai's minority group(if that occurs) that they have no interest in ever moving the Crew.

If we can't get them to step up with that guarentee. Then we are going to do the next.

2.) Lobby to every person in the State of Ohio and with a connection to Columbus that has money to outbuy HSG and Noozai's shares in the Crew. Effectively, stopping any sort of plans to move Columbus ever.

My thoughts are that we need to overreact to be sure that our team stays here.

In my opinion, it's better to freak out and be wrong, then not to do anything and be right. We might lose our team if we don't.

If we get more people involved then maybe they can get assurances that this is a good intentioned move. Or maybe it will facilitate a local ownership group to buy the Crew instead of having an ownership of HSG with Noozai, who may have good intentions or bad intentions. Who knows? They are not talking about their intentions. But, I would feel safer with a Columbus ownership group invested in the Columbus Crew then a Dallas/Vegas group that isn't really sure if they want to stay here long term.

With a Dallas/Vegas group if the intention isn't to move anytime soon. Then there is still a possibility that we will still move sometime. They have no overwhelming interest in their team being in Columbus. They have no attachment. If we do what some suggest, inaction, I don't want to tell you I told you so two years from now.

And, if those people are right, we can laugh about it while at a Crew game in Columbus. If the worse happens on the other hand which is a slight but better possibility now, we will have to travel pretty damn far to do that.

That's why I implore everyone to get involved. Knock on doors at the Ohio Sports Commission like Hard Hat is doing. Make banners saying "save Columbus" in and out of the Nordecke. Because, it will do one of two things. It will make our owners either come out and say, "no, no, no, you guys got it all wrong. We like Columbus and want to stay here." Or, "it will alert Crew fans that are unaware of the stituation with deeper pockets, towards the stituation. To lead to a more awareness in the media of the stituation." Or, "It could help us find a local investor, which is what MLS wants everywhere, that will guarentee a Crew in Columbus the next 50 plus years."

So either we are overreacting and get a guarentee or some sort of verbal communication from our owners of what they expect from Columbus the next five years. Or we find out their real intentions now and find some local owners that will misplace our current owners as owners of the Columbus Crew and destroy our current owners possible intentions of relocating the Crew.

Some people say that this is a distraction and we should just focus on our goal of winning the MLS Cup. I wish we could just focus on that. But, I disagree on in it being a distraction. The team should stay focused and we should be at every game home and away during this journey. And, continue to lend them our never waving support. But, we should keep another eye on this as well.

Because if I had to choose. I would take in a heart beat 50 losing seasons in Columbus, then one MLS Cup in Columbus and then having the team relocate to Las Vegas or somewhere else. Either we guarentee our future now by overreacting, or we don't react and run the risk of losing the Crew forever. Your choice.

"In my opinion, it's better to freak out and be wrong..."

when in danger or in doubt, run in circles scream and shout.

then again this could all just be some ploy by MLS to fuck up our chi going into the playoffs so that one of the leagues babies come home with the cup.

Lol, obviously I misplayed this.

Well, if they move the team, don't come crying to me.
