MLS Security Needs To Improve.

I just wanted to add a comment from the bigsoccer thread after bgnewf(a TFC fan) and talon926(a Crew fan) made some excellent points on this thread. Basically, if MLS security could get their collective heads out of their behinds things like this would not occur. My previous post could be interpreted as blaming some TFC fans but it was mainly a security gaff. And, even if that is the case fans still need to take their actions into context, but, sober security that knows what they are doing for once needs to take the iniative, instead of giving it to two groups of fans who have been drinking most of the day. My post:

Correct by both tgnewf and talon926. If security in MLS could get their heads out of their behinds we wouldn't have this problem. I mean are they seriously dense? They say hey we are going to wait 30 minutes. Decide to wait 5-10 minutes.

Clear as day see a bunch of TFC fans waiting outside looking through the gates taunting and flicking Crew fans off. The Crew bus group of course gave some taunting back because that's what incredibly drunk people do at a game, but come on, hello? Do they turn us around? No, they walk us out.

It's just better when everyone gets hyped up and that happens I guess in "supposed rivalries" to play it safe. Why not just wait a full hour til all TFC fans clear out? I would rather have that and the kids and families with us safe then have them run through a gauntlet of hysteria. It wouldn't of been as big of a deal to me at least if there wasn't a bunch of families with us because once again the fighting was pretty much not very hardcore. But, they don't need that. And, any incidents would be adverted if security across MLS could just grow a brain and keep groups that don't come in peace apart. I say come in peace because the Crew supporters and Red Patch Boys thing before was cool as always. That should be allowed, it's after the game and when one teams fans are a little aggrived by the result of the game where you get most of your problems.

What do you think a 9 year old with us thinks about that little incident? I'll tell you if I had a kid I would be pretty upset with security on Saturday. I have to give most of the families massive props for how they reacted. I'm kind of upset anyways because the families were a part of our crowd and it's not right for that to happen.

But, I'll still go back. The families still seemed like they had fun for the most part so who knows if it is overhyped. Not overhyped when you end up on the ground like some people(if it's two meatheady people that want to risk jail then whatever floats your boat if security is going to be idiots and let it happen, but innocent people is just ridicoulous) and MLS needs to get their security in order. Just keep them apart and then all the tough people can all pretend to be equally tough by blaming it on security. And, you keep all the fans that are just there for the game safe.

It's rather simple. Take the discretion out of a bunch of people that have been drinking all day and put it in some sober security that knows what they are doing for once. MLS security is shambolic across the board usually. And, you know why? Because none of the teams are willing to pay for adequate security.
