Possible Playoff Opponent No. 5,567 On ESPN 2 Tonight

Tonight the New York Red Bulls travel to Chicago. If New York wins they are in and more than likely will play the Crew. If they lose and if DC United or Colorado wins, they are out.

It seems that the Red Bulls coach, Juan Carlos Osorio, hasn't made many friends with his former players at Chicago or anywhere. Dema Kovalenko of RSL a few weeks back stated that he hated Osorio's guts. Segares with Chicago, had to say that the Fire would take great satisfaction from giving the knock out blow to their former coach tonight. So, I wonder if that will add to the friction?

Either way, I'm hoping for Chicago to win. Por que? Yes, this is about the only time you will ever hear me say that.

Also tonight's game should be another intense playoff atmosphere like it was at DC last week.

My dreamlist of results for the weekend would be: Chicago wins and knocks out Red Bull, we win and knock out DC, we play Kansas City, and Colorado takes the other remaining spot.

I can see how you would want to play KC in the playoffs, as we've played well against them, don't have to travel far, etc.

But part of me wants a scenario where we draw DC in the playoffs first round.

What better way to win the Cup for the first time than knocking out DC in the first round, Chicago in the semis and Houston in the final?

I haven't studied the math enough to know if DC in the first round is possible, and of course we would have to take a loss in our last game of the season. But it would still be an excellent way to win the Cup.

I agree 100% with you Ryan...

Chicago did their part, now it's up to the Crew.
