I'm assuming Mr. Hunt enjoyed his visit to Columbus this weekend. From Shawn Mitchell's Article:
(Clark Hunt) said Hunt Sports Group, which also owns FC Dallas and the NFL Kansas City Chiefs, has no intention of selling a controlling interest in the Crew and that Major League Soccer is no longer concerned with the divestment of teams by owners who control multiple franchises.
"The landscape has changed dramatically," Hunt said. "AEG owns 1 1/2 teams (Los Angeles and Houston) and we control two teams. It's just no longer a front-burner issue for the league. I wouldn't mind owning two teams for the foreseeable future.
"We think Columbus can continue to be one of the cornerstone franchises in this league. The best way to state it directly is to say that I'm confident the Columbus Crew will be playing in Columbus, Ohio, for at least the next 50 years."
Would be sort of hard to redact that statement.
We Love You Clark Hunt, We Do.
