Grendi to start for Rogers?
This comes from the tail end of a good article on Danny O'Rourke by Shawn Mitchell:
Rogers questionable
Rogers is questionable for Saturday. He said an MRI revealed a minor strain to his left hamstring.
In Rogers' place, rookie Alex Grendi could get his first career start. The third-round draft pick replaced Rogers at halftime of a season-opening 1-1 tie in Houston and assisted on the Crew's goal.
From what I have heard, I don't think the Crew will risk the minor strain against TFC. Grendi has to be surprised to possibly get an opportunity to start this early in the season. Either I would expect Grendi to start(had an assist on Guillermo's goal and Warzycha also likes throwing in youth to see if they sink or swim) or I would expect a shuffle, possibly putting Ekpo on the left wing or placing Gaven who used to play left midfield on the left and Ekpo on the right. Should be interesting no matter what Warzycha decides to do. Going to be a tough one with Moreno, Hejduk, and now Rogers possibly out.
In other news:
**I have heard that only about 12,000-13,000 tickets have been sold. The Crew do expect a good walkup though to hopefully get upwards of around 16,000. A rainy forecast might make that tough though. According to the Weather Channel, they are expecting a high of 64 and a %50 percent chance of rain.
I can't say I'm thrilled with sales. But, it is what it is. Hopefully ticket sales pick up the next few days along with a solid walkup.
