Lol, basically the below video is "yeah we here in Toronto support our team with class, so were going to disrespect any championship ceremony. Because that's what supporters with class do." Seems sort of like a smug asshole to me. Alot of the Toronto vibe towards the Crew makes sense now:
Rule #1 of Being A President Of A Supporters Club or Just About Anything: Don't Film Yourself Making Assinine Comments About Your Competitors. It just makes you look like a jackass.
Anyways, I'll be glad for whatever Toronto does during the ceremony. It won't show up anyone, it will just show that they are a bunch of jerk offs. Congrats.
"It's not disrespect. It's disinterest." Yeah that makes sense, sounds like a definition twisting politician to me.
"They are like are bastard child," President DePoe. FYI, CSU was birthed in 2005 coming from V-Army that was around since almost the beginning, Hudson Street was birthed at the beginning of 2006, Red Patch Boys came along in late 2006 according to this. So, please tell me how you birthed us? And, even more interestingly, why would you want to birth us? :-)

Internet tough guy Crewfighter strikes again!
Well if we're going to name off supporters groups, why not name off the Toronto group that is at least five years older than any of yours?
CF, you seem to be well-researched on all things Toronto (despite the fact that we "aren't your rivals", right?), so I'll let you figure out what group I'm referring to.
BTW, as much as you guys hate to admit it, our presence at your home opener last year was a definite contributing factor to the expansion of what is now known as Nordecke.
Yes, the stage forced your groups together, but I recall many a post on the Crew board last year in regards to people bringing in their buddies, uncles, kids, parents, cats and dogs just to have an answer for the huge influx of TFC supporters that were on the way (and hat you had months of notice to plan for).
I won't be so arrogant to say that we were the only factor, but we were definitely a factor. It seems most of you are too dumb or too proud to have figured that out for yourselves.
Lol, okay, how am I being such a tough guy?
I'm just thankful HSH's leaders or any Columbus supporter leaders for that matter don't film themselves slamming Toronto. I'm also glad we don't pretend like we invented you guys. Even though I'm pretty sure without Mr. Hunt in 1999 putting up his own money and starting a precedent that saved the league we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.
You guys did it through your own hard work. Just like any supporters group does it. It's totally disrespectful.
Rudi give it up.
Seriously, if you know how any of us worked for what we got now you wouldn't be saying you were a major factor. Why does Toronto want to be a major factor anyways?
We had supporters groups like V Army and etc. from the beginning and tried a bunch of different things and we had infighting that lead to frustration. And, we had a FO that before 2007 didn't support us. Finally, we all worked hard to finally get it together.
One major group in that corner was chanting since 2005 after coming from V-Army. HSH has been there since 2006. LTA was there all of 2007 and 2008. We were not invented on March 29th, 2008. How f'in hard is that to understand?
And, after that game we had alot of struggles after that. You don't invent something in a day. It took years, more years then before TFC even built the first beam in Toronto.
yawn this tfc stuff is beyond old.. im going to go back to commenting on how lenhart > moreno
Man, lol I love how that dude's head is cocked on the pause for the intro to that video. Even makes him look more like a douche then he sounds when you press play.
I mean, as soon as you pressed that, you know you're gong to get some douchey-ness.
That was hillarous. Thanks for posting.
crewfighter. i dont think anybody is claiming Toronto is a reason behind why your supporters group exists.
what they're saying is they played a part, small or big, in helping it grow.
Toronto coming down and invading your stadium, outnumbering you, outsinging you, etc etc was a big rallying point for Crew fans.
a supporters group who can't outsing the visiting fans even when they win
a shameful supporters group
I agree with the comment about dude in video, lol he looks pedophile.
for any nay-sayers:

a picture speaks a thousand words ^^
(awesome sight to see picking up my season tickets earlier this year)
also, lenhart > garey > moffat > moreno
I'll give you credit for that. But, I think it still would have happened either way. Really there wasn't a ton of us at the start of the game. Just the core that was always there. Same people that were there for about every season in different parts. What happened for about every game for the first half of the season is first part of Nordecke is full and then the top half fills up after the second half. The atmosphere of the three groups together contributed to a full section because other Crew fans were like hey that's cooler then sitting on my ass so I'll join. And, then they stayed, and more stayed, etc.
I agree it was a good build up and was better then playing like Real Salt Lake in our first game, by far.
But, the misinformation from supposedly credible websites, the commish, and your president's gets beyond annoying.
Everyone says how classless we are. You don't see our presidents doing any of that. FYI, I'm not in charge of any group. I'm just willing to give another side to the bias against Columbus. We get it from everyone.
You guys do a great thing bringing so much support to an away game and should be commended for it. And, you would be commended more for it by Crew fans if you didn't act like blazing jackasses saying you invented us and trying to disrespect our ceremony.
I'm sick and tired of the whole thing back and forth. Just ready for the game. Just have a safe trip and some fun.
man the guys being interviewed and asked to comment on garbers comments earlier in the week, by saying "bastard child" can you not see that he's simply saying "we don't want to be the father of your support"?
and flip the table around, lets say crew fans were coming down to BMO and the TFC front office was doing an awards presentation before the game, would you not be disinterested? (here's where you can say "but tfc will never win anything!!!!" and completely miss my point.)
I imagine there will be a few supporters on BOTH sides this weekend that show disrespect, although I do believe these will be the minority.
Garber is an idiot for what he said last week. He only said it b/c he knew TFC fans would push it and Crew fans would hate it. Its as artificial as the Trillium Cup itself.
Best of luck on Sat.
CF, please point out where I wrote "major factor" in my post, or that I claimed you were "invented" on March 29, 2008.
What is with the word invented, anyways? Many Columbus fans seem to be obsessed with it, especially when referring to Toronto. Yet I've never seen a single TFC fan use it on any message board or blog I've read.
Back to what I was saying before, our traveling fans were a factor. A good vocal rivalry brings out the best in supporters groups, and you cannot deny that yelling at us for 90 minutes on that cold March day helped set the tone for what you guys are now. Again, I've read posts about Columbus fans who brought newb friends out that day, and the newbs loved the atmosphere, the back-and-forth, which sold them on coming back later.
If there were no opposing fans to yell at that day, the Nordecke would have been a lot quieter during that game. Every supporters everywhere gets up a bit more, and sings a little louder when faced with a good opposing fanbase in their house. It has happened to us, and it happened to you guys that day.
YES, THERE WERE OTHER FACTORS. I'm not denying that, you guys have done a decent job in '08 (and don't give me this crap about it taking years, many other teams have pulled together in less time, as did you guys when you finally felt like it).
Whatever. You guys an keep believing that you live in a bubble and that the presence of thousands of opposing fans in your house has no effect on you, at the end of the day I don't really care.
Have fun on Saturday. We plan to. That's all that matters, really.
Was that a nerd convention in that video? Are those all their leaders? Looks like a bunch of nerd boys to me.
And, geez, I almost feel asleep at the beginning. Mr. DePoe was extremely boring until he spewed some Columbus hate. Then I just laughed.
Anyways, the point that CF is making that TFC doesn't tend to get is. We don't support our team because of TFC. We support our team because we love our damn team. I don't think though that dates matter, who came first doesn't matter, I just know from what I have experienced in that corner that those are some damn people that love their team. It's almost sad how much time I spend thinking about our team.
Lol, I get what you're saying Rudi. It's just the tone and the beating of the dead horse. And, come on, I have seen it all over the TFC forums. And, you cannot say that DePoe was a little disrespectful. He, like you, puts the TFC factor number one in our creation. He talked about it for a minute and then that bald guy(Rollins, who seemed kind of cool actually) was like there was the stage and yada, yada, too.
And, lol, trust me it took years. I'm sure V-Army can attest to that better then I can as they dealt with a FO like Colorado's. But, since I started coming to games at 18. Soonest I could go since I lived 3 hours away before moving here. I always thought man this atmosphere could be so much better. And, we tried many different things. We moved to the sideline to kind of get more visibility like DC, didn't work because of soccer moms. It was frustrating. Last year around Jan. I was like you know this year is going to be different. I just had a feeling. Things were coming together great in 2007, there was some atmosphere in three different parts of the stadium with at least 200 in each part. Still disorganized but everyone knew it could be something. But, we would have never of came together if not for that stage. Also we almost broke apart again half way through the 2008 season before we became totally solidifed. And, it probably did help to focus on a new nemesis other then each other. You're right on that. It just gets old how much credit you guys give yourselves.
Anyways, like you said, the most important thing is that everyone has fun.
seriously who gives a fuck, how about the supporters of each team quit bickering at each other and just cheer for their team
Sounds good. I'll be happy when this game is over. I more then likely won't be able to go to Toronto this year because I have finals during that week and I doubt TFC brings what they are bringing to the second game in Columbus. So, it shouldn't be that heated after this. And, I'll have no room to talk anything for the away game if I can't go to Toronto.
fucking hell....i'm a tfc supporter and i'm embarassed by both sides of this fucking farce, who gives a a fuck "we have better support" vs "you haven't won anything". i used to laugh at it, but now i can see why loads of other team supporters hate us both, we're fucking annoying as hell, enough is enough we're boring
no worse than what your own GM said.
HYPOCRITES
"I'm just thankful HSH's leaders or any Columbus supporter leaders for that matter don't film themselves slamming Toronto. "
no but your GM did. and he directly represents your team so thats worse.
I don't think he represents myself or any of the supporters. McCullers is a suit just like Coleman and Miller. They say stuff like this because they know it's beneficial for both of their cities and teams. Lol, and you got to know that since McCullers is getting 2,000 X 20 off of you guys and you guys will be injecting some business into Columbus that McCullers and Coleman love you guys. McCullers and Coleman want to piss you off so they can take your money. They know your more likely to continue to come if you're pissed off and having to prove something.
My thoughts are it's good to work with the FO. But, the FO doesn't represent us. For one, they personally trademarked the Nordecke name although I rather have the supporters do that. So, I don't think he or anyone there personally speaks for any of us. They speak for how much cash they bring in.
But, your Prez speaks for at least the Red Patch Boys and I think that was a sort of embarrassing interview. Although, maybe that's just TFC's honest opinion of the Crew supporter and maybe that is just the ammount of arrogance the TFC fan has. Which if it is, then I guess it's not worth worrying about.
"Everyone says how classless we are."
Actually, everyone says how classless you are. Look, is it really that hard to understand? You're the joke of the league. Everybody laughs at the KKKrew. You're team finally had a good season, and your fanbase is still barely in triple digits. Hudson Street Hooligans? Need I say more?
Gotta say, it's kinda cool that you have to badmouth Toronto FC just to get your blog some traffic. Toronto FC and their fans have made your sad excuse of a team (and "fanbase") slightly relevant, and that clearly haunts you.
Can't wait until after this weekend, so you and your shitty team can go back to being irrelevant!
I don't really do it for the hits. It's not like I get handed any money for hits like MLS Rumors. You see any ads on this site? I reply because I think there is alot of shit talking against Columbus and no one stepping up to it. Not only from you guys, but MLS Rumors, and Kartik Krishnayer, and even more then that. But, seeing how my feedit is about 75% percent Toronto today I need to cool it as well.
Really, overall, what is most important is what happens on the field. I guess TFC fans arrogance just annoys me, we are not even that arrogant and our team has actually won something, and I need to control myself at times not to stoop to this level. It would be alot easier if some newspapers would put out some decent damn articles on this game so I could report on something else.
I heard there's a soccer game this weekend
KKKAnonymous, the fan base diminshed over the years due to lack of success. There are a lot of other sports teams here in town and unfortunately OSU Football takes center stage. It gets more coverage all year long. I get that it is difficult to understand until you have witnessed it. The point is, it has not been easy for the team and we certainly don't get any help from the commish. I don't think it's a coincidence that LAG has its bye week this weekend.
Stop obsessing over the actions of one individual who made a racist comment. The majority of the fans here does not condone such behavior. Take a look at yourself and your words.
To the other anonymous poster: "Toronto coming down and invading your stadium, outnumbering you, outsinging you, etc etc was a big rallying point for Crew fans."
You certainly might get that impression when you were in the visitors' section but TFC supporters were not outnumbering home fans. No doubt about it, you guys were vocal and I applaud you for your passion.
