The not so extreme after game stituation, think the cops didn't react enough in the beginning and then overcompensated by overreacting:

Probably should wait for the section to fill up next time, but another pic:

I also like the class from both sides for not blaming each other for the most part for the after game stuff. Also, for giving respect where respect is due. I have seen many complimetary comments from TFC fans and I have to give props for their banners and the atmosphere they brought as well. Especially, after Padula's goal. :-)

I get a kick out of both sides demonstrations. Our own and theirs, definitely more fun to go against someone on the opposite end. Instead of going against Colorado or 5 Red Bull or New England supporters that come to town. We still will bring it either way and we are all thinking of how to improve our demonstrations and keep the noise coming like we have been doing.

Here is a cool thread, guess they are not all that bad. Some suck of course and I'll always dislike them before a game. Especially the trolls. But, this is alright.

Random ass throwing object of the day, ramen noodles:

That's a head scratcher. Right up there with the big ass bag of popcorn into the TFC fans on the concourse. Although I did sort of smirk at that.

Another random ass funny story, my one buddy second from left was trying to help a friend and break up a fight on the top of the South End. And, he sort of has long hair and some TFC fan pulled on it as a fight move. I found it sort of amusing before I pulled the guy away. I told him he should of cut his hair for the game.

Thanks for linking to my pics from the match (or at least of your 1/2 full section pre-game), less thrilled with the smart-assed comment added to my picture of our coach showing some emotion to thank us supporters for coming down, but whatever. As for shots of the Crew supporters section full, I might have taken some, but in all honesty the one I posted was primarily to capture some of your banners, once the game was on I was focused on the match and our supporters signs/cheering, it wasn't meant as a slight as this year I thought it was great that the whole NE corner was full and jumping of Crew supporters.

As with last year, I had a lot of fun and met a lot of really great Crew supporters who seem to be good people and fans of the beautiful game as I am. It was a pleasure to talk with them before and during the game, and hopefully we all realize that neither side should paint the other with broad strokes because of stupid actions on the part of a few.

While there was some stupidity during and after the game, I don't think there was anything patently out of hand until security started forcing the Toronto Fans out the same exit as Columbus fans after the game, shoving a bunch of drunken people, some who just saw their team throw away a win on an own goal, and others ecstatic at getting a point it didn't look like we could claim.

It baffles me that the CPD and stadium personnel don't seem to know how to deal with crowds, don't you have 100,000 person crowds year-in-year-out with lots of visiting fans for OSU Football games??? I would have thought that years of experience there would provide a solid basis for keeping 2,000 separate from 12,000 after an event, and has to be easier than keeping 2,000 separate from 98,000!!!!

Anyways, hopefully you all get a chance to visit BMO someday and we can have your visit go off without a hitch. I don't know if I will come back to Columbus next year, it may be time for a breather to let things settle down, but that's a long way off (I already know I can't make the July trip).

Cheers from TO!!
