Unless you have been under a rock, or haven't read the front page of ESPN.com today, you would see that Chelsea, Inter, Club America and AC Milan to face off in U.S.
Looks like another euro snob tournament to me to sell incredibly expensive tickets to one game that could get a fan a half or possibly full season ticket to an MLS side this season. You can read the details in the article, but excuse me if it doesn't piss me off that Club America is in this tournament but a MLS team isn't? I'm not here to critique the quality between the MLS and the mexican league because obviously there is a talent disparity and probably more tickets will be sold for this club. But, if you are wanting to grow the sport in this country, and obtain more interest, a MLS team HAS TO BE INVOLVED. How great would it be if the spoils of being the USA MLS champion secured you a ticket in this four team tourny? It would be good for MLS because we would be playing top class teams, generate interest in the league, and sell more tickets. It would also be good for Europe because you are building a sustained soccer base seeing soccer every week in America that generates future talent and interest for your clubs. I know we will be busy with CCL, but come on........our MLS CHAMPION, the Columbus Crew should be in these games.

The problem is that it's in the middle of our season. I'd rather not play meaningless games against European teams during their pre-season but focus on Open Cup, CL and MLS.
