This Is No Good

The MLS and their pursuit for glamour clubs will ruin the league.

Well, Shawn Mitchell's new article has me even more concerned, click here.

Caligiuri wrote in an e-mail to The Dispatch last night that the SBJ story was not accurate.

"Not much to say," he wrote. "I believe I was misunderstood and (the information) was wrongly stated."

Hopefully, he was talking about the close to a deal information and not the "we won't move Columbus" information.

And, McCullers seems to be out of touch with reality:
"This is something that is ongoing," he said. "For us, it's business as usual. This is not going to be a distraction. If it happens, great. It shows the value in the Columbus Crew and what we have been building."

If it happens great? Yes, just great, a guy that absolutely hates Columbus buys the team and moves it to Las Vegas. Yeah, that shows alot of value in what we are doing here in Columbus. That would be fantastic.

Then, MLS seems like they are cool with the Crew moving as,
"When asked about the prevailing perception that MLS would never approve the relocation of a franchise with an existing soccer stadium, a league official said the league would not comment because MLS does not consider the Crew's dealings to be "a league issue at the moment.""

This whole thing makes me sick. Way to ruin a good year. Could Mr. Caliguri and his group just please go away.
