If You're Having Club Problems, I Feel Bad For You Son. I've got 99 Problems, but the Crew Ain't One!

“By the by, this moment is so great, I’d cheat on that other moment from before, marry this one and raise a family of tiny little moments.”

We left Dayton at 2:30. I started shooting video for the video blog shortly after getting in the car (hopefully I'll have that up soon, gotta get my editing software to work.) Met up with the rest of the Dayton group at Ruby's around 4pm and started drinking. $2 Guinness is the best thing EVER. $8 pitchers? EVEN BETTER THAN THE BEST THING EVER!

If you haven't had a chance to grab a pint at Ruby Tuesday before a game, you must. It's a requirement. It's amazing, it's the mirrors. (DLP now owes me $20 bucks.)

So ended up drinking, watching the Scum v Pathetic match. Scum beats Pathetic 1-nil. Good for them, was kind of hoping the same thing I always hope when watching other teams play, that they both could lose.

Started walking the Mad Dog over to CCS about a half hour before game time. Only complaint of the day, we need to start walking over a few min earlier as I wanted to get a beer and get in my seat and almost didn't have enough time. Just a suggestion nothing massive.

Game kicked ass, Nordeke kicked ass (btw, is that official yet, I think that's what most are calling it.) Crew kicked serious ass.

The team heading over at the end in unison to celebrate with the Nordeke was amazing.

Now it's on to DC on Thursday. Hope to see you guys there. Crewfighter and I will be blogging from the hotel so we should have some sort of report for you that night.

Coyote Ugly

1) (adj.)- A morning-after revelation that the woman you just slept with is so ugly that in order to leave you'd rather gnaw your own arm off than wake her.

2) (noun) - A craptastic movie whose only saving grace is Tyra Banks gyrating on top of a bar. Of course, this is a pre-neurotic break Tyra Banks.

3) (adj.) - An appropriate modifier to the Crew's Saturday night in New York.

But let's face it kids, despite the fact that Chicken Little seems to have been born in Columbus, the sky is not falling. We just need a little toughness. All the talk that we got from the players leading up to the season opener about how this team needs the play mean and nasty just didn't work on Saturday in the Swamp. The Crew got manhandled and pushed around.

Paging Andy Herron. Andy Herron, yellow courtesy phone.

Remember this, kids?

Where was that when we needed it on Saturday night? The biggest guy on the field (Oh Chad, I'm speaking to you now) gets pushed down, foul or no foul, in the box and a goal is conceded while Chad is sitting on the ground whining about it. To me, this situation can be summed up in our latest in the string of Major League references:

"YOU HAVE NO.... MARBLES!"

Toughness, gentlemen. That's what we want to see. We want the opposite of the fair play award. We want the freakin' Chuck Norris award for beating the shit out of the opposing teams. If you concede a PK, we want the guy who is fouled to think he just got hit by Ray Lewis on a crossing route. We want him to feel that hit every morning for the next week. Toughness, gentlemen. Get it done.
